How an expandable container house works
The central section is a steel container frame. Two wings are folded inside it for shipping, so it travels at 5.9 × 2.2 m like a normal container. On site, the wings swing out on galvanised hinges and lock into place, turning one room into three.
Because the walls, windows, wiring and bathroom are all installed in the factory, there is very little work left to do once it lands.
